Aerovías DAP

DAP is a consortium formed by AeroRescate, Aerovías DAP, Antarctic Airways, DAP Antarctica, DAP Helicópeteros and Mineral Airways based in Punta Arenas, Chile.〔http://dap.cl/dap/〕
== History ==

The airline was established in 1979 and is wholly owned by the Pivcevic family. Its name DAP is the acronym of its creator, Domingo
Andrés Pivcevic, a Punta Arenas businessman. Its first operations were between Punta Arenas, Porvenir, Puerto Natales and Coyhaique, with the first plane being the Twin Otter. The first flight to Antarctica took place on February 12, 1989, and usually these take place on the Southern Hemisphere's summer season, employing the BAE 146 -200, Twin Otter, King Air 100 and (since 2003) the DHC-7 leased from Voyageur Airways of Canada. Nowadays, DAP leased a BAe 146-200 from Tronos, thus replacing the DHC-7s on the Punta Arenas-Teniente Marsh airfield in Antarctica.
DAP flies some of the most challenging skies in the world and has a clean accident record.
